Great episode. I think ultimately it comes down to time and motivation. If creative pursuits are truly important to you, you make the time, don’t you? Personally, at this season of my life, I’m happy to fuel creativity with kiddie craft, gardening, playing in the kitchen etc, and use writing as a way to pay the bills. But like Belinda, I’ve never really felt that I am a “creative person” – curious, yes but creative, not so much. Perhaps I need to read the book she mentioned and see if that changes my thinking?
The Artists Way by Julia Cameron. I’m still working my through it. Step 1 is stop telling ourselves we aren’t (creative)! If nothing else, I’m finding value from investing a bit of time in myself and things I enjoy doing 😀 — Belinda
