Listened to this on my morning walk. All good stuff that makes such great sense. I’m always tweaking my processes and your podcast will definitely help me push them that much more. Thanks for the inspo!
Nice one Lisa!
I’m also one for continuous improvement and when a project goes a little off track, I immediate look to my processes to see if I can close the loop and prevent it happening again.
The other important side of that is making sure you write your processes down. That way, someone else could (in theory) help you out if you needed it (and you’re not the bottle neck of your business!)

Ah I love that you wake up with me in your ear hole.
It’s comforting to know that even the best in the biz (Kate & Belinda) are consistently tweaking and making changes to their own processes. It alleviates the pressure on newbies like me, to know EVERYTHING now, now, now. Instead of being paralysed with what I ‘think’ I don’t know, this podcast was another reminder to stick to a process that works for me, keep going, and that the mistakes will iron themselves out along the way- especially when you pay attention to the experts. Thanks ladies!
That’s exactly the approach Casey! You won’t be able to plan for every instance when you’re just getting started. I just planned out how I ‘thought’ it might work and adjusted everything as I went along. It’s important to adjust to deliver exceptional service but also to make your time more productive.
I’m always looking for ways to make everything easier for me!
Thanks for listening – and the great feedback. — Belinda
Thanks so much for listening Casey – I love a good tweak!
Great episode guys. Love the idea of having a skeleton draft. I’ve always felt that there should be another step in my process that bridges the gap between the brief and the first draft and I reckon this is it. I can see it being a great time-saver when it comes to revisions and a way of setting the client’s expectations. Thanks for the advice.
Thanks Jamie – yep it’s the blurt, messy, have a got my facts straight draft. WORKS WONDERS!
